1. The short version
Run 42 runs entirely on your phone. There is no account, no server-side storage of your training data, no advertising, and no third-party analytics. Your plan, your sessions, and your notes stay on your device.
2. What the app stores locally
To work, Run 42 saves the following on your device:
- your onboarding answers (race date, goal time, sessions per week, etc.);
- your generated plan and its history (sessions marked done, notes you write);
- your display preferences (language, units).
This data lives in the app’s local storage. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
3. Strava (optional)
If you choose to connect Strava, Run 42 reads your activities through Strava’s official API to display planned vs actual. Access tokens are kept only on your device. You can revoke access at any time from your Strava account or by signing out inside the app. Strava’s own privacy policy applies to your Strava account itself.
4. Plan sharing
You can choose to publish your plan at a public URL. In that case — and only in that case — the shared plan is sent to our servers so it can be served at the address you picked. You can unshare at any time from the app. As long as you don’t share, nothing leaves your phone.
5. Purchases
Payments go through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Run 42 does not receive your name, address, or payment details. Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies apply to those transactions.
6. Ads, analytics, trackers
None. No marketing SDKs. No advertising identifiers. No session tracking.
7. Security
Your data sits behind your device’s built-in protections (encryption at rest, app sandboxing). Because nothing is synced, there is no central database to compromise.
8. Your rights
You keep full control:
- reset the plan from inside the app’s settings;
- disconnect Strava at any time;
- delete a publicly shared plan;
- uninstall the app — all local data is removed.
9. Children
Run 42 is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be called out in the app’s release notes.
